The Wild Wild West

When the going get’s tough, the tough get’s going. That’s how we roll out here in The Wild Wild West.

Personally, I dig the whole moccasin, Western look. I’m soooo easily inspired by the natives in this area. The colors, the atmosphere, the crisp clean air, the down to earth and wholesome attitude towards nature and life. It’s profound and indeed very healing…

Here are some looks and pics from my New Mexican lifestyle….

The local News Paper

Tumble weeds have always fascinated me… And I have seen so many of them on my trip through California, Arizona and New Mexico. They are always busy tumbling around in the street going neither here nor there…. they seem so lost… with no direction…

I spotted a big one resting against a blue fence.

Even though it is peaceful I still think it looks alienated and sad in this world..

ha ha this is what the locals do for …fun..????!? :-)

One of my favorite cafe court yards in Berlin. At Meierei. Can’t wait for higher temperatures and the sun to shine like it means it.

This place even cures hangovers – process yet not complete on this photo though.

Too Fat?

Europe has been watching the fashion models’ BMI for years. Voluptuous is the new black according to Euro fashion gurus. Models are looking curvier on catwalks than they have in years. And even the waif tooth-pick style icon Kate Moss, who uttered the famous: ”no food tastes as good as skinny feels’ has been spotted a tad more ‘womanly’ (read with boobs and hips) than in her die-hard heroine chick days.

However, The New York City fashion Week has been hopelessly behind this trend for years. That’s why I was puzzled to pick up the news paper with this headline the other morning.

I met and photographed top model Coco Rocha backstage at the Rag & Bone show a couple of seasons ago and she was skinnier and taller than most of the models that day.

interesting and about time that a NYC news paper brings this topic up. I just hope that designers, fashion editors and teenage girls all over the planet hop on this new trend: Curvy is delicious. I’m tired of attending ‘anonymous under-eaters’ parties during fashion week.

SEX & THE CITY 2

Do you know where you are on May 28th 2010? I know where I am. The girls are back and I’m NOT missing out ;-)

NYE party pics…

The party at Club TS in Copenhagen began pretty, polite and all in good manners. However… things got a little out of hand shortly after Midnight. Or was it just before..?  Probably a good thing that my Canon went dead at some point in the AMs.

Anyways, here are some shots from a really fun party. Hope you all had a fun night too :-)

My Christmas Eve Look

This is my Christmas Eve outfit. A gold vintage sequin dress. It’s totally over the top, which makes it perfect for a quiet evening with my family :-)

My NYE Look

A closet full of clothes and nothing to wear… the inevitable puzzle every girl tries to solve when faced with yards of designer fabric, glitter and shoes each December 31th. For me the puzzle became a nerve wrecking problem around 5 pm when I realized that I only had 1 hour to pick out something from my suitcase, throw it on and transport myself to my boyfriend’s pad to watch our Danish Queen deliver her yearly speech.

It is such a nostalgic tradition to watch our Queen speak to ‘her people’. On that one day a year at exactly 6 pm when Her Royal Highness appears on screen I can’t help, but feel a tad royalistic. Does that word exist? Anyways, you know what I mean. Especially when living in God’s Own Country – the land of milk and honey – it feels kind of traditional, safe and old school in a good and sophisticated way to origin from a Monarchy.

But hey who gives. let’s talk about fashion: My choices were between an Alexander Wang dress, a surfer dress from American Apparel or a Tennis dress in off-white sequins that my sister bought in India for me. All colorful and funky choices. So I’m not quiet sure how I ended up in all black with a snow-washed denim jacket instead of a blazer. But I guess when working under pressure it’s best to trash all the planning and just go with your first intuition. And the dress from Forever 21, the corsage from La Perla with feathers around the chest, the high thighs from Wolford and denim jacket with tons of zippers from Object were the first things I put on 5:20 pm. no time for anything except accessories: bracelets from Nialaya, Diamond earrings  and my black bootlets.
