I was reminded of Balmain when I viewed this collection. I really enjoy the simplicity of the designs even though when you pay attention to the detailing – the structured shoulders and the beadwork (which I suspect were hand sewn) – these are anything but simple designs; they just look simple, which is great.

Balmain AW10 – somewhere between Prince’s Purple Rain pomp and Louis XIV at Versailles. Gold, brocade, frock coats, Louis-heeled ribbon-laced boots, sequin and lamé dresses galore. It’s a circus of extravagance rock’n roll. J’adooore!
